Magic $13.83 trivia
Just thought I'd point out that $13.83 is the silver price per ounce at which the silver in 90% junk silver coins is worth exactly 10 times face value, e.g. each mercury dime is worth a buck.
(The higher the price goes, the harder it is for me to call it "junk" silver...) |
Re: Magic $13.83 trivia
Around $14.75 per ounce.
Thats roughly the price at which you will receive 10 times the face value when you sell your 90% silver coins. There's always been a big markdown on these. Chris |
Re: Magic $13.83 trivia
It's been 3 years or so since I've heard a dealer refer to 90% as "junk". Buyers do it but not the sellers. Maybe because a seller has a different perspective (agenda) then a buyer?????

Re: Magic $13.83 trivia
Bump, in consideration of the current silver price, now 30 months after starting this thread. This Magic price was first breached (during this current bull) on 4/18/2006, more than 3 years ago.
From this perspective, it seems a long consolidation. We may be in for one more pullback this summer, but I think the following 9 months will be an interesting ride. If it's any consolation to newbies, I remember feeling like I paid too much for silver at $7.20. |
